Fairytale

Just a girl with her hair in a bow
skipping rocks along the shore.
She's sitting and contemplating
the mystery of love. 
As the waves splash over her
she sinks into her wildest dreams. 
 There was a day where she believed
one day her prince would sweep her off her feet. 
But those thoughts quickly faded
as her heart slowly broke
Only finding frogs to keep her time. 
Just a girl with her hair in a mess
sitting along the shore. 
Contemplating life and the mysteries of love. 
As the waves reach her toes she begins to awake,
To the touch of his hand grasping hers.  

Summer

We were young and so inlove.
We spent summer chasing the waves and
building our life with the grains of sand.
You held onto my hand all day
not wanting to let go when
you kissed me goodnight.
We watched the Sun melt into the ocean
fixated on the way the colors danced in the sky.
You told me your secrets,
and I told you mine.
We danced to the rythm of the wind
and swayed to the twinkling of the stars
We were young and so inlove.

Darling, its so nice to finally see your face
Come and sit with me
Place your arm around me
lets snuggle up real close.

Tell me all about your adventures,
your secrets and past.
Place your trust with in me,
giving your heart to me.

Darling, I have waited so long for this moment
I've searched and searched,
but always came up empty.
My heart keeps racing for you.

This is the start of our lives.
So darling, will you hurry up,
get here soon
My dreams just arent enough.

Prince Charming

I've been sitting here
waiting, wishing,
on a prince to come
and rescue me
hand me a glass slipper
or awake me with
one simple fairytale kiss

I kissed my share of frogs
with no luck of them
becoming my prince
no magic mice or birds
to make me a beautiful gown
no fairy godmother or genie
to grant my every desire

Maybe I've been wrong
wishin' on stars and 11:11's
hoping, dreaming,
that my prince will come

But here you are
standing right in front of me
I can't look you in the eye
because I'm scared
you might be the frog who
holds my missing shoe
and can awake me
with just one simple kiss

I Still Believe

We stood under the street light,
as my heart broke suddenly.
I tried and tried to forget you,
to move on, walk away.
Pretending I am just fine,
I fake a smile all the time.
And I can barely look you in the eyes,
You lied when you said you wanted to be friends.
I tried and tried to lay that foundation,
but you have become so distant.
We stood under the street light,
as I wanted to speak but couldn't.
How do I close this door,
when I still am hoping you want it open.
You don't get to know the truth,
so I fake a smile all the time.

If I Gave You the Chance

There I stood, feeling so talll
my hand layed out for you to hold
I was ready to give you the chance
to prove to my mind what my heart already knew
I gave you my smiles, and let go of my fears
you said right here is where I could stay
but then you turned and ran
filling the air with unanswered questions
Now here I stand, feeling so small
my hand layed out for you to hold
it may seem foolish, to give you this chance
to prove to my heart that my mind is wrong

My fears have returned, but I risk the smiles
wishing you knew
I was ready to break the walls for you

Love Has Left Your Voice

You scream and shout, raising your voice
the viens burst from your neck
you lost yourself some time ago
but hunny, no one feels sorry for you here.

The love has escaped your voice,
causing me to run and hide
the anger gets stronger
and no one can explain why.

they don't deserve this, no one does
your lies and your fears
they haunt everyone but your soul
you push and you push till everyone falls.

lying on the ground, they shake to the core
draining themselves of their tears
love has left your voice,
and you have yet to search for it.

The love has deserted your voice,
and it slowly escapes your soul
redemption waits at your door
but you're to proud to answer.

Forgiven Now

Just a little girl, innocent and sweet
she sits and swings kicking her legs
as she flys to the sky and back to the earth.

Her hopes and her dreams reach as high as the trees,
she builds a sand castle tall and beautiful
like one she wishes to live with her prince charming.

but the leaves change there shades,
and the swing loses its flight
as her castle slowly crumbles.

Her prince charming led her up the stairs
and then led her out
leaving her with one small peice of her heart

She grabs her swing and lightly floats above the sand
she stays there in that safe innocent place
wishing upon the stars for one more chance

Her heart crumbles and breaks
till she hears a faint whisper in the dark,
"You are forgiven, And I will make you whole"...

Beautiful Mess

so here I stand,
just a dirty mess
hair out of place and tangled,
last nights make-up smeared
around my eyes
And there you are pounding on my door
Telling me how passionately
you love me
how tenderly you care for me
I turn up the music louder
questioning the image
starring from the mirror
Your loud voice now drowned
out to a whisper
heard through the change of song

"I love you!
I am here to save you!
I take you at your worst!"

So here I stand
just a dirty mess
hair out of place and tangled
last nights make-up smeared
around my eyes
And there you are
taking hold of me
loving me just as I am.

Mr. Poetry

Oh Mr. Poetry,
why must you mock me so?
you send me visions
of pencils dancing on paper
designing my next masterpiece.

Oh Mr. Poetry,
why must you constantly tease me?
you place lines of beauty
inside of my mind
only to leave as quick as they came.

Oh Mr. Poetry,
can we find some common ground?
you have filled up the drafts
on my cellular phone
only to be left unended.

did you find another mistress?
we use to be so perfect,
match made in heaven
where is the love?

over a pencil filled with led

Savior

I lay my troubled head to rest,
allow my heavy lids to shut
and take one big deep breath.

I slowly drift away
into a land not to far from here,
where I can hear that faint whisper.

My hands are held up in the air.
I know he sees my puffy eyes
and has counted my many tears.

I can feel his gentle touch
as he wipes my cheeks clean,
the way he has countless times before.

I held his hand as he led me away,
mesmerized by the holes in his hand
and the way he didn't seem to care.

With strong arms he lifted me,
carrying my sleepy body to the top
Where he painted me a picture in the sky.

He told me the story
of how it all came to be,
my messiah dying for me.

I stay there a while,
resting my head heavily on his lap.
Pondering the gift I was graciously given.

I am not sure as to why he chose me,
but as I am suddenly awaken
I choose to shout praise!

The faint whisper now's apart of me
all because,
my Savior died for me!

Heartbreak Tragedy

Curtains open, spotlight hits
there we are dead center on stage.
Just two people, playing roles in a tragedy.
It's the story of a friendship,
once so promising and strong,
now fading into a distant memory.

Lights cut as we progress into the next scene.
Showing you slowly let go and walk away
I watch as you pause to turn around.
You stab me in the heart
with that look in your eyes.

Now here we are, end of the script,
the wound still fresh and throbbing.
I remember the promises made,
the struggles we went through,
all the tears and laughter we shared.
I watched as you exit stage left,
letting go of all we had.

I've been in alot of these tragedies,
never has one shattered my heart
till you came along
and broke your very word...

Searching

Teary eyed she lays face down into her pillow
constantly waiting,
waiting for you to come wipe away her fears.
Her friends say, its just not her time
but the ache of her heart
won't let her turn the other cheek
Searching and Searching
she doesn't seem to understand
Questioning whats wrong
with the image she examines in the mirror.
Love is patient they tell her,
but she wonders how much longer.
Overwhelmed by a misguided view
of whats worth living for.
She lays face down on her bed.
a tear drenched pillow
was not what he had planned
for His darling angel.

Childhood Friend

He catches my tears as i collapse on the bed.
I grasp on to Him as I drift away
into the terrible dreams that haunt me.

I am brought back to those early memories
where I would tell Him all my secrets
and swore i heard Him whisper back to me.

He followed me everywhere, watching over me
always protecting me from the monsters
hidden away under my bed.

Puffy eyed I am fast awake
I gaze upon His dirty white fur
and His one eyed, no nosed face.

I embrace him in my arms
and take in the old familiar scent.
Oh the love a girl holds for her Teddy Bear.

Love Tree

I'm sitting all alone up on this big tree
there are others spread out in pairs
among the thousand branches
but here I am, all alone on this big tree.

From where I am, I can see a boy
He's sitting there all alone
surrounded by those who are paired
dare I climb down to where He sits?

Oh I am much to high up from the ground
I'm scared the fall could be the end of me.
Maybe He'll look up and see
I am all alone on this big tree.

Maybe if I could get his attention,
throw something His way, maybe just maybe
He will meet me half way?
WE could sit and talk... and watch where the leaves blow

Oh how the fall could break Us
be He promises to hold on through it all
as We sit here together, hand in hand,
all alone up on this big tree.

It'll Only Take a Minute

Don't mind me
I'll only be here for a minute
but this minute could last for a life time
if you happened to take my hand.

We can sit in your car and chat
talk about life and its mishaps
I'll let you hold me if you like
and I promise to stay as long as you'll have me.

You can rest all your secrets within me
and I promise no won will fine them
I'll cherish all our hopes and dreams
and stand by you as you reach them.

I can give you all of my heart
but only if you promise to keep it
See its been hurt once or twice
so be gentle as you grab it.

Promise I will just take a minute of your time
I can see you have somewhere to be
Just a minute is all it will take
and hopefully you will notice me

Someday

Someday, I'll sit across from you
and be able to look you in the eyes.

Invisible Children Poetry

Invisible Children

We walk at night, they call us invisible
We fear being abducted so we hide
We are kids, but our lives arent liveable
We stay under buildings so the can’t find
All we want is a little peace and harmony
the war has gone on far to long
Save us from the one they call Kony
Please help us, you know that they’ve done wrong
Twenty-five years we’ve become resilient
children soldiers must be condemned
Please we miss our mothers and our beds
Can someone save us form our fears?
All we want is to stop all the tears


Invisible

We fear in the Dark
We walk in the Light
We hide from Them

Reflection

Standing in the mirrored room
searching for more then just a reflection
lost among thousands of mirrors
is the reflection all that is left?

Slowly something shatters a mirror
one by one the begin to crack
spinning around the reflections are fading
pieces of glass fall to the ground

The mirrored room quickly grows silent
spotlight strikes upon the only mirror left
the reflection staring straight back
the hurtful words fill up the room

Timid hands reach for the mirror
the reflection staying still and pure
those hurtful words become mute
as the mirror falls to the ground

Walking cautiously into the spotlight
her beauty finally displayed to the world
something plain and simple, but hidden for to long
the reflection disappears, never to return

City Lights

I search into the dark night sky
hoping one day I will see the stars.
Laying on the damp lifeless grass
I remember the busy city life has stolen them away.

I study the clouds in the sunny sky
hoping they hold the key to my serenity.
Laying on the warm soft sand
I realize serenity is filled by smoke from the factories.

I gaze into the mirror at the girl I see
hoping I will find me in her eyes.
Playing with my hair and makeup
I realize my identify has been hidden by the magazines.

I stare at the movie screen
hoping I will discover what love means.
Sitting in a used seat in the middle of Hollywood Productions
I realize the meaning of love has been destroyed by actors.

Storm From a Friend

There's a box full of letters
disguised upon my highest shelf.
And as I reach for them
the memories come trampling over me.


As my eyes painstakingly read the promises
of how you'll always be there,
my shoulder to lean on, my confidant.
the pitter-patter of the rain begins to pound against my window.


The lightning strikes as the thunder roars across the sky
displaying all the unforgotten moments
everything we held so dear and tight,
shown across the dark blue screen.


And as the credits roll, a tribute is shown,
in honor of how you taught me to stand,
when everyone let me fall.
To the friendship we thought would last forever
and the ending I never wanted.

Ghost

She approaches him cautiously
holding her heart inside tightly.
With each step her grip loosens
and each smile from him she weakens.

Stumbling on her fears
she gives away her heart one last time.
In hopes he'll make it whole again,
her trust in a faithless man.

And with a kiss goodbye,
she can feel it piece by piece
start to crumble to the floor.
As his eyes slowly gaze through her

She trembles to the ground
her arms reach out to catch her
but his eyes are set past her.
She begs him to look down one last time

One Sweet Smile

It's the innocence of that sweet child's face,
A smile nourished with great hopes and dreams.
The kind words he gleefully chirps,
and the compassion held in his heart.

Its' how he doesn't know
what it's like to live in a world so tarnished.
How the biggest pain he experiences
is a scrapped up knee.

Its that he believes earnestly in
what you tell him
and how a cookie is all it takes
to make him stop crying.

It's how he solves all his problems
just by remorsefully whispering "I'm sorry."
How time out is the worst
punishment in the world.

It's that this innocent child,
with a smile so sweet,
Will one day have the power
to change this world we live in.
