It's the innocence of that sweet child's face,
A smile nourished with great hopes and dreams.
The kind words he gleefully chirps,
and the compassion held in his heart.
Its' how he doesn't know
what it's like to live in a world so tarnished.
How the biggest pain he experiences
is a scrapped up knee.
Its that he believes earnestly in
what you tell him
and how a cookie is all it takes
to make him stop crying.
It's how he solves all his problems
just by remorsefully whispering "I'm sorry."
How time out is the worst
punishment in the world.
It's that this innocent child,
with a smile so sweet,
Will one day have the power
to change this world we live in.
